EAST PEORIA, Ill. – If you live or work in East Peoria, there’s a new way to make sure you aren’t caught off guard when an emergency strikes.
The city has officially rolled out a new notification system called “Hyper-Reach.” Think of it as a direct line to your phone, built to get vital information to you the second it happens. Whether it’s sudden severe weather, a boil water advisory, or unexpected road closures, this system is designed to keep you informed.
Now, if you have a landline, you’re already in the system for basic community alerts. But, if you want those vital weather warnings—or if you rely primarily on a cell phone or internet-based phone—you need to register to get notifications.
You can get signed up in seconds by texting the word “Alert” to 309-204-9700. You can also go to the city’s website to register. They’ve even set it up so you can get alerts through Alexa or a smartphone app.
