PEORIA, Ill. – There is a chance of severe storms in Central Illinois beginning midday on Monday.
25 News has designated Monday a First Alert Weather Day. Meteorologist Austin Feig is expecting morning storms through the area with some damaging winds possible around 10 a.m., then later in the day a second round of storms between 5-6 p.m. that could be severe.
“All hazards are possible as we move into the evening hours. Tornado risk is mainly south of I-74 and hail risk is higher west of the Illinois River,” Feig said.
