Nancy: Want a hard workout? Do this?

Usually when I run by myself, I’ll go four miles. Any more than that and it’s just too boring. But yesterday I decided to run six miles. It was a little windy, but I thought that I could always walk back if I was too tired. So I’m on the trail when all of a sudden it occurs to me that I have to be somewhere at 2:00. PANIC! I look at my phone and it says 1:12 pm. Crap! I was still about 3 miles out and I am not typically that fast a runner, especially right now when I’m not training for anything. But this is an important 2:00 appointment (it was for a massage that I got for Christmas) and I was not missing it. So I start running hard. I wouldn’t call it an all out sprint but I was booking. It was way faster than I usually run, that’s for sure. Was it fun? Heck no! But I got the best workout I’ve had in a long time.

Maybe I’m on to something here ….
