Nancy: Does your pet need to lose weight?

Is your pet chunky? If the answer is yes, you’re not alone. A new survey finds that 60% of cats and 56% of dogs in the United State are now overweight or obese.

Guilty! My dog Bernie (above right) recently visited the veterinarian for shots and his check-up, and when we took him home there was a special note at the bottom of his papers; “We would like to see Bernie lose some weight!” And the exclamation point WAS at the end of the sentence, so I know they were serious.

Did I know Bernie was getting a little chunky? Mmmm .. yes. I saw it.  During the winter, there aren’t as many walks. And my family probably gives out too many treats. So, yeah. Bernie AND his brother Bandit are on a low-treat diet and we’re planning on daily walks as the weather gets nicer.

QI: The answer is 54. What is the question? (We’re playing the Jeopardy version of QI) John: “You Don’t Say…” A third of us do THIS at work every day. What is it? According to a study, the amount of people doing THIS is down 20% from last year. What is it? QI: The average lifespan of THIS is 18 months. What is THIS? Nancy: In an office lottery pool? You might want to get that in writing!
