PEORIA, Ill. – A celebration of a wide range of the arts will be on display at the Peoria Civic Center.
Ignite Peoria by ArtsPartners returns on Saturday from 9:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M. The free event will bring together local artists, musicians, actors, dancers, cultural organizations, and more to display their talents and skills.
ArtsPartners Vice President Julie Traenkenschuh tells WMBD’s “The Greg and Dan Show” that Iginte will showcase how encompassing art can be. She adds that the event will be interactive as well.
“We ask of artists when they come, and community organizations, is that they have something for people to do in their booth,” Traenkenschuh said. “So that can be anything from trying out a musical instrument, to writing poetry, to making a craft.”
GlobalFest will also participate in Ignite Peoria this year to give the festival an international flavor. The event will feature a new food truck court, featuring cultural foods.
Sensory Ignite will take place from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M., which includes craft and sensory activities, a calm room, and games.
