PEORIA, Ill. – Five charges have been given by a Peoria County grand jury to a man accused in two separate shootings last month.
21-year-old Omarvelous Blakes on Tuesday was indicted on two counts of Aggravated Battery, two counts of Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, and one count of Armed Robbery.
The first shooting occurred the night of May 3rd in South Peoria, where a 19-year-old woman was shot in the leg. The woman reportedly identified Blakes as the shooter in a police lineup.
The second occurred five days later, where a 17-year-old boy suffered a gunshot wound to his face after Blakes allegedly entered his vehicle.
