PEORIA, Ill. – The checkered flag is waving for Peoria Speedway.
In a Facebook post early Sunday morning, the racetrack announced that weekly racing has come to a close. No reason was given for the closure.
The final race at the track will be the DirtCar Summer Nationals on June 11th.
The track has been owned by Brandon Dean for the past 13 years.
The Central Illinois Flea Market responded to Peoria Speedway’s announcement by saying business will go on. The Speedway hosts monthly events for the market.
