TAZEWELL COUNTY, Ill. – The cause of death for a Mackinaw man who died in a Christmas Eve crash in rural Tazewell County has been released.
Coroner Charles Hanley says 62-year-old John Stone was pronounced dead at the scene of the single-vehicle crash on Illinois Route 9 between Davis Lane and Coil Road. Authorities were alerted to the crash just after 4:30 A.M.
Hanley says an autopsy conducted on Friday shows Stone suffered multiple blunt force trauma injuries from the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
