PEORIA, Ill. – Two men were arrested after a shooting in South Peoria Thursday night.
Peoria Police say a 19-year-old male was shot in the hand just after 8:45 P.M. in the area of Webster and Johnson, and was treated and released at a local hospital.
Police then spoke with the three occupants of an apartment in the area of the shooting, and all three taken in for questioning.
One person was reportedly in possession of a firearm magazine with multiple rounds of ammunition.
19-year-old Dartavious Carr was arrested on weapons charges in relation to the shooting, while 21-year-old Omarvelous Blakes was arrested for prior incidents allegedly connected to a firearm recovered.
Carr and Blakes were taken to the Peoria County Jail.

Officers were called to the scene around 8:50 p.m. on reports of someone being shot.
PPD Spokesperson Semone Roth says a male victim had been shot in the hand. The victim’s injuries were non-life-threatening.
Police have not released any suspect information. The incident remains under investigation.
