PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria crews were called to a home in the area of S. Livingston and Lydia for a fire late Monday night.
Arriving just after 11 p.m., firefighters found heavy smoke coming from the vacant home.
Peoria Fire Battalion Chief Thomas Sander says the home sustained extensive fire damage on the first and second floors, and smoke and water damage throughout.
A fire investigator, utilizing an K-9, determined the cause of the fire was arson.
No firefighter injuries were reported.
Damage was estimated at $25,000.
