PEORIA, Ill. – Three males escaped injury after reportedly being shot at in Peoria’s Central Bluff Sunday evening.
The incident occurred just after 11:00 P.M. in the area of Sheridan and McClure, and was one of three incidents Peoria Police reported occurring Sunday into early Monday morning.
Officers responded to the area after a Shot Spotter alert of six rounds fired. At the same time, they were alerted to an alarm at a business in the same area, discovering an unoccupied vehicle that crashed into the building.
An investigation determined that three males were in the vehicle, driving northbound on Sheridan, when they allegedly fired at three males walking on Sheridan.
The vehicle then crashed into the business and its occupants fled on foot.
Earlier in the evening in the same area of Sheridan and McClure, Peoria Police officers attempted to take a teenager reportedly recklessly driving on an ATV.
The 16-year-old suspect fled on the ATV and drove through yards, flipping the ATV off a retaining wall at one point.
A foot chase occurred with officers needing to use a taser to bring the teenager into custody.
The teenager reportedly tried to draw a gun from his waistband, but was disarmed by officers.
The 16-year-old was arrested on charges of Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Possession of a Firearm, No FOID, Possession of a Firearm (Under 21), Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Reckless Driving, Fleeing and Eluding.
Peoria Police also responded to a reported home invasion case early Monday morning.
Officers were sent to a residence on N. Talisman, off of Lynnhurst Dr., just after 3:30 A.M. on reports of a female bleeding from the head with a small child banging on the door of the house.
An investigation determined that four suspects broke into a home in the area of Camelot Rd. and Capri Ct., then pistol whipped and battered the home’s adult occupants.
The child was uninjured. Evidence was collected throughout the home.
