PEORIA COUNTY, Ill. – We’re learning more about what caused a stretch of Farmington Road near the Peoria Speedway to be closed for several hours Saturday night.
Peoria County Sheriff Chris Watkins said originally it was a “large group of juveniles” causing trouble in the carnival area of the speedway Saturday night.
Watkins tells 25 News a number of juveniles believed to be unsupervised got into a fight in one area.
They then took off running down Farmington Road and fought in a second location.
Peoria Police, Watkins says, was called in to help.
A number of juveniles were retained, but no arrests were made.

PEORIA, Ill. – Not too many details are known, but some juveniles caused what were described as problems near the Peoria Speedway Saturday night.
Peoria County Sheriff Chris Watkins tells 25 News what he says was a “large group of juveniles” were causing issues at the speedway’s carnival area.
Traffic was closed in that area for the better part of three hours.
It’s not believed, though, anyone was arrested.
