PEORIA, Ill. – An official with Bradley University may be in trouble with the law.
Peoria County Jail records indicate Shelley Hawkins, 66, was arrested Tuesday on ten counts of Theft Under $500, and was released from jail after posting bond.
Hawkins, according to Bradley’s website, was hired June 1, 2022 as Chairperson of the Nursing Department, having 35 years of experience in higher education.
University officials tell 25 News they are aware of the charges but have no further comment.
We’ve reached out to Peoria Police to find out why Hawkins was arrested. No formal charges have been filed as of yet, according to online court records.
