PEORIA, Ill. – Two teenagers were arrested yesterday on multiple weapons charges Wednesday after what Peoria Police described as a “violent physical” altercation earlier this month.
The incident between a male and a female occurred in the early morning hours of June 8th at the Greenwood Estates, where officers reportedly collected live ammunition. Police say the male and accomplices armed with multiple weapons fled the scene.
Peoria Police say on Wednesday, a search warrant was executed at a residence in West Peoria in the area of Laura and Cortland, where 18-year-old Korion Hopkins and a 16-year-old were taken into custody.
Police say six guns in total were reportedly recovered from the house, including three Glocks with one having a switch, a Polymer 80, and an AK47 style rifle. Two of the Glocks were reportedly stolen.
Hopkins was arrested on charges of Aggravated Assault, Mob Action, Unlawful Restraint, and a warrant from the Illinois Department of Corrections. He was taken to the Peoria County Jail.
The 16-year-old was arrested on charges of Aggravated Domestic Battery, Aggravated Assault with a Firearm, Mob Action, Interference with Reporting Domestic Violence, Theft, and two Peoria County warrants.
