INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Morton High School Marching Band will play on at the national championships.
The band learned Friday night that they were one of 33 in four classifications to advance to the second semi-final round at the Bands of America Grand National Championships. The competition is taking place at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind.
A total of 93 bands performed at the championships this year.
The band had to wait a day for the announcement, after its preliminary performance on Thursday.
They are now scheduled to perform their 2023 show “The Space Between” Saturday morning.
Class rankings and category awards will be announced after the semi-final performances, with the 12 highest scores moving on to the finals.
The Morton High School Marching Band finished 2nd in their class and 19th overall last year.
