PEKIN, Ill. – “We have been simmering in our anger all day….”
Those are the beginning words of a social media post from the Pekin-based TAPS Animal Shelter after a dog was left on their property late Sunday night in what appeared to be a taped-up box.
TAPS says surveillance video shows someone in a van or SUV making the disturbing drop-off just after 11 p.m. Sunday, leaving after less than five minutes.
TAPS staff members discovered the box with the dog inside the next morning.
The agency says they don’t want to hear excuses – just accountability, saying someone knows who that dog is and how it got there.
If you know who did it, or you are who did it, you’re asked to contact TAPS at (309) 353-8277, extension 101, or admin@tapsshelter.org.
