PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria crews were called Thursday night to a home in the area of W. Verner Drive and W. Virden Court on reports of a fire.
Acting Fire Battalion Chief Rick Waldron said they arrived just after 11 p.m., finding heavy fire showing from the side of a one-story house.
Once the fire outside the home was out, firefighters searched for occupants, none were found inside.
Fire in the attic was put out quickly.
A fire investigator said the fire that started outside the home was accidental.
Two adults and three children were displaced by the fire. The Red Cross was called in to assist them with temporary housing.
No one was injured.
Damage was estimated at $80,00
