PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Police spent part of Thursday and into Friday responding to another round of gun-related crimes.
Among seven significant events which included the city’s 11th homicide of the year, and a fatal motorcycle crash, was the alleged discovery of guns inside a home where a drug investigation had taken place.
It happened around 6:00 a.m. Thursday on North Sheridan. Police say a SWAT team entered a home and found a double-barrel shotgun, ammunition, cannabis, methamphetamine, and other suspected items used in drug-making.
A male police didn’t identify was arrested for a number of gun and drug-related charges.
Later in the day, there was a reporting shooting on West Starr still being investigated where two 17-year-olds were injured.
And, a man was arrested on multiple charges after a woman was reported to have been kidnapped and pistol-whipped.
