PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria Police say a man is in custody on multiple charges for an incident where a squad car got damaged.
Police say the incident happened around midday Wednesday starting at Knoxville and Glen with an initial report of trouble with a male.
One got into a vehicle and drove away at a high rate of speed. It struck several parked cars including a squad car, later colliding with another vehicle near Frye and Peoria.
Police say Braylan Walls, 20, then got out of the vehicle and fled on foot, before being caught on Nebraska.
Peoria County State’s Attorney Jodi Hoos says she’s charging Walls with counts of Aggravated Assault, Criminal Damage to Government Supported Property, and Aggravated Fleeing and Eluding, and is jailed on $100,000 bond.
One driver suffered minor injuries. Police also say a gun was found in Walls’ car.
