PEORIA, Ill. – Several people are said to be injured after a CityLink bus crashed in downtown Peoria late Thursday morning.
Police and fire crews were called to Harrison and Jefferson Street near Big Al’s and the downtown CityLink terminal just after 11:00 a.m. Police say the bus jumped a curb, hit several parking meters and a pickup truck before striking a tree.
Fire officials had to use the Jaws of Life to get the bus driver out of the vehicle.
Six people in total were taken to local hospitals. Police say none of the injuries are expected to be life-threatening. Three other people were treated on scene and released.
The Peoria Police traffic division is continuing an investigation into the crash.
