PEKIN, Ill. – One person was taken to the hospital after fire broke out Friday afternoon at a Pekin apartment complex.
Pekin Fire Chief Trent Reeise says crews were called to the scene on Valle Vista Boulevard around 3:00 p.m.
Crews had the fire put out quickly, but Reeise says residents could be displaced for awhile as it’s determined just how much smoke damage there is through the complex.
One person suffered minor burn injuries, while another person was able to evacuate safely.
Damage estimates are so far unavailable, and authorities don’t believe the fire was suspicious.
