PEORIA, Ill. – A hero’s sendoff near downtown Peoria Friday afternoon.
Our news partner 25 News reports more than a dozen different police departments helped Officer Karson Klyber leave OSF Saint Francis Medical Center en route to a hospital in Chicago to continue his recovery.
That’s because the East Peoria Police officer’s squad car was allegedly hit by a vehicle driven by 29-year-old Ashley List of Peoria while responding to another accident on Interstate 74 late last month.
Several of the officers were to follow Klyber all the way to Chicago.
List, meanwhile, faces Aggravated Driving Under the Influence and other charges, and is scheduled to be in Tazewell County Court January 26th.
