LEWISTOWN, Ill. – A new memorial at the Fulton County Sheriffs Department honors late Sheriffs Deputy Troy Chisum.
Chisum died after being shot by a man holed up in a house in June of 2019.
Now, a memorial with Chisum’s image is installed in front of the Sheriffs Department.
“[Troy] went out and did everything that he possibly could. Firefighter, EMT, Police Officer, just because he loved to help others,” Fulton County Sheriff Jeff Standard told news partner 25 News. “You can never replace that. Just his unbridled love for the community is his legacy.”
Nathan Woodring was convicted of murder in October. He will be sentenced January 4th.
