PEKIN, Ill. — The Pekin Marigold Festival is back in full force this weekend.
Festival Chairman Josh Hafliger told WMBD’s “The Greg and Dan Show”, a new event Thursday afternoon is the “Crosstown Classic”…a baseball game between Broadmoor and Edison at Mineral Springs Park.
The game will be played in Diamond 2 at the park at 4 p.m.
The carnival gets underway Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
“It’s bracelet night…unlimited rides with the purchase of a bracelet. And, we also have a wine tasting at the Pekin Country Club as well,” Hafliger said.
On Saturday, the Marigold Festival Parade returns with a new twist.
“We’re doing something a little different this year, we’ve added a new event to the parade…we are doing the Marigold Mile. We’ll have about 75 runners running the parade route before it actually starts,” Hafliger said.
The Marigold Parade kicks off at 10 a.m. Saturday at 14th and Broadway.
The carnival, Art in the Park and Festival of Foods will be open all weekend at Mineral Springs Park.
