Advice .. get up early and get your workout in before breakfast, instead of after.
There’s a new study out of England that found exercising before you eat breakfast makes your body burn twice as much fat. Apparently, if you exercise on an empty stomach, it forces your body to burn stored fat instead of using calories from food (breakfast).
Researchers tracked 30 overweight or obese men for six weeks. They all ate the same foods, and did the same workouts. The only difference was some of them worked out before breakfast, and some worked out after. In the end, the ones who exercised first burned twice as much fat. And in general, they saw more benefits to their overall health. The biggest one was it increased their ability to respond to insulin, which slashed their risk for diabetes and heart disease.
Sounds like a good enough reason to, at least, trying to workout before breakfast. You can also get in more time with the Morning Drive with John & Nancy! 🙂
