A man shot Sunday night in Peoria is now the city’s 18th homicide victim of the year.
Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood says 23-year-old Kennard Hardy II, was pronounced dead at about 12:45 a.m. Monday at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, despite aggressive treatment to save his life.
Hardy was shot shortly after 8:30 p.m. Sunday in the 1300 block of Kettelle, near Steubenville Street.
Officers found him on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds, in grave condition.
An autopsy is planned for Monday. How many times Hardy was shot is not known at this time.
The case remains under investigation by Peoria Police and the Peoria County Coroner’s Office.
