John Riley & Nancy Flagg

John Riley is a 23-year radio veteran, musician, comedian, frazzled father of four and host of the Morning Drive on 93.3 The Drive (5:30 am to 9 am Monday through Friday). Named Local Radio Personality of the Year four times by the Illinois Broadcasters Association, Riley is a family-friendly entertainer using music, games, phone calls and his unique perspective to help listeners get their days started on the right foot. Riley is joined by long time market news voice Nancy Flagg. A busy, constantly on-the-run mother of three, Nancy keeps Central Illinois up on the latest news, lifestyle choices and gossip, and tries to keep John in line.

What We Learned Today?

Hurricane Dolly is coming ashore today along the Texas-Mexico border. Flooding and burst levees are the biggest concerns.

John feels jipped. He's tired of products that promise, promise, promise .. but don't deliver. His shampoo promised 50 percent more volume and all he got was clean hair. He's no Don King.

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation broke ground in Seattle on its new 500 million dollar headquarters. The foundation's 37 billion dollar endowment will be used to fight diseases, start a green revolution in Africa, improve American high schools and provide internet access at libraries throughout the world.

Tori Spelling's mom is paying a whopping 47 million dollars for a two story condo in LA. Candy Spelling is downsizing from the 56,500 square foot home she owned with husband, Aaron Spelling, to the condo, which has 16, 500 square feet. It makes a downsize from an SUV to a Ford Focus look pretty silly.

Nancy got a free cell phone car charger from the Verizon guy. She thinks it's because she's smokin' hot. Can you say BIG EGO! John thinks the Verizon manager just wanted Nancy and her three kids out of the store ASAP.

Animal lovers in central Illinois are working to save dogs and cats from euthanasia by decreasing the numbers of litters being born each year. Operation S. A. F. E.  - a spay/nueter assistance program - is holding it's 2nd annual Evening of Art and Wine this Friday at a coffee house called "Not Your Average Joe" in Dunlap. You can buy tickets for $20 online through Wednesday and $25 at the door. Go to operationsafe.org to order.
