Stuff you need to know ...
The nation's most influential group of pediatricians says medical marijuana for children should only be used if there's no other treatment option. The American Academy of Pediatrics says there's no hard proof that medical marijuana benefits sick children, but there is evidence that it may harm developing brains.

Online shoppers aren't going to be happy about this. Amazon will start collecting sales tax from Illinois shoppers next month. A new state law, which was passed last summer, requires the online retailer to collect and the six-and-a-quarter percent tax. 

Take advantage of low gas prices because they probably won't last. Analyst Trilby Lundberg says the lowest prices in more than five years are likely to increase because of rising wholesale prices. 

The company that owns “SkyMall" filed for bankruptcy on Thursday . . . turns out people just weren't using the catalog anymore, now that we've all got so much OTHER stuff to occupy us on flights. If they can't find a buyer, the magazine COULD disappear from airplanes.


Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman said he knows that New England isn't going to be punished for deflating footballs because the team's owner Robert Kraft is buddies with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell. 

"American Sniper" dominated the box office for a second week, earning $64.4 million and bringing its total domestic haul to just over $200 million. The JENNIFER LOPEZ thriller"The Boy Next Door"debuted in 2nd place with $15 million.

Birdman" got an Oscar lift with two big wins over the weekend. It won for best ensemble prize at the SAG Awards and won op honors at the Producer Guild Awards. 

Actor PATRICK DEMPSEY's wife Jillian has filed for divorce after 15 years of marriage.  And it could get ugly since there's no prenup. Meanwhile, MANDY MOORE is splitting from RYAN ADAMS after almost six years of marriage.
