Ace Frehley has revealed that the title of his upcoming new solo album will be Spaceman. The former KISS guitarist added that fans should expect the album later this year. “The new album should be out in a couple of months”. He went on to explain that he decided to give the LP that title after spending time with his former bandmate Gene Simmons at one of the KISS bassist/vocalist’s recent “Vault Experience” events. He goes on to say “I said to the audience, ‘What about calling my new album ‘Forty Years Later’, because it’s been forty years since my first solo record – 1978,” he added. “And Gene goes, ‘No. You should call it ‘Spaceman’.’ So I figured I’d go with it. That’s a nice sound bite. Someone says, ‘How come it’s called ‘Spaceman’?’ I go, ‘Gene Simmons wanted me to call it that.’ 🙂 Ace’s last solo release was a covers collection Origins, Vol 1. Rock on Ace Frehley!
